About Bringing Home Baby

I’ve been dreaming of creating something such as Bringing Home Baby for years. I’ve worked as a Registered Nurse in many different facets surrounding Women’s Health, as well as Newborn Care. I’ve always dreamt of finding a way to support the patients I care for after they leave the hospital. I truly love engaging with families as they begin this new chapter of their lives. Unfortunately in the hospital setting, sometimes patients do not get the one-on-one time nurses want to give to their patients. In-home care alleviates that time constraint, and you and your baby are the only focus. Whether it’s your first or fifth baby, we would love to be apart of your journey.

Chadra

Hello! I’m Chadra Nelson. I have been working with families as a Registered Nurse for seven and a half years. My first job was in the Well-Baby Nursery where my love for newborns flourished. I then began working as a Mother/Baby Nurse and learned that I also enjoyed caring for mothers throughout their postpartum period as well. I fell in love with educating new families surrounding all facets of bonding, newborn care, breastfeeding, as well as overall learning their new normal. I became a Certified Lactation Counselor in 2020.  I am now working as a Labor & Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum Nurse. I have learned so many things and cannot wait to share everything I’ve learned with you and your loved ones to ensure this new period of life goes as smoothly as possible.

I currently live in Cullman, Alabama with my husband and two dogs, Luna and Mars. You will usually find me traveling and exploring new places, reading or binge watching the newest true crime thriller documentary or reality television show.

My ultimate goal is to ensure that you feel supported, educated, empowered and comfortable in your home as we navigate this new period of your lives. There are so many new things to learn in such a short period of time, and I am here to help! Whether it’s your first baby, or your fifth, I am honored that you are even considering including me in your journey! I look forward to hearing from you!

Brooklyn

Brooklyn has been a Registered Nurse for four years, with experience in the Orthopedic Spine Center, the Emergency Department, and Mother/Baby care. Since 2022, she has focused on supporting families on the Mother/Baby unit and has been an active member of the Breastfeeding Committee, helping parents feel confident in their feeding journeys.

She loves being part of those precious first days with new families—teaching them how to bond with and care for their newborns.

Outside of nursing, Brooklyn is planning her wedding this November to her fiancé, Sam. She lives in Albertville with her two dogs, Susie Mae and Banks, and recently rescued a sweet baby kitten named Kitty. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Brooklyn brings not only professional expertise but also compassion, warmth, and joy to every family she supports.
